Event 1st Nov 2017 - Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebration
Minutes of the Mauritius Mallige Kannada Balaga Getogether held on 01.11.2017 at 1st Floor Lecture Hall of J.S.S Academy of Technical Education from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm.
The meeting was attended by 68 participants.
The meeting started with flag hoisting by Chief Guest Dr.Padmini Hemmige, Prof and Head of Opthamology, Anna Medical College, Central Flacq and Office bearers of the Balaga at the open grounds of J.S.S. Academy of Technical Education.
It was followed by singing of Nada Geete by all the members.
All the members later assembled at Lecture Hall.
The Rajyotsava inauguration progamme started with following items
[a] Welcoming all Participants by Secretary –Mrs. Latha M Bhat
[b] Lighting of the lamp by Dr.Padmini Hemmige, Dr.Shashi Sewsurn, Mrs. Nalini Vadiraj and Latha M Bhat.
[c] A brief talk by Dr.Shashi Sewsurn on the Evolution of Mauritius Mallige Kannada Balaga in Mauritius since 2006.
[d] A Audio Visual Presentation on the glory of Karnataka
[e] Talk by Chief Guest, Mr.Padmini Hemmige on the spirit of Kannada Rajyotsava.
[f] Self Introduction of New Members.
There was a brief break for light refreshments. After the Break, there was a simple written Quiz on Karnataka covering all the aspects of Karnataka’s historical, cultural, geographical, sports, films, literature, politics, industry etc .
After the Quiz programme, there was singing session of all interested participants.
The Quiz programme was followed by Musical Chair and Housie Housie Programme for all participants.
After a Group Photo Session, the members dispersed for lunch at Canteen. All the food items were prepared by some of the volunteers of the Balaga.
After the lunch session, the group assembled again for prize distribution to winners of Quiz, Musical Chair and Housie Housie Game.
Mr.Madhusudhan Bhat, Programme Coordinator thanked the following volunteers and sponsors who came forward for making the get together a memorable event.

The contribution of J.S.S.Academy of Technical Education, who always provided strong logistical support of providing permission to host Kannada Sangha programmes, was also deeply appreciated, especially the support of Mr.Shivakumar M, Accounts Officer and Mr.B.S.Manohar.
The meeting ended with a conclusion that we will meet again on 08.11.2017 to pay respects to Swamiji of J.S.S.Academy of Technical Education, who is on a visit to Academy.
