Le Morne Picnic 12.06.2016
Minutes of the Mauritius Mallige Kannada Balaga Getogether Picnic held on 12.06.2016 at Le Morne Public Beach,
The picnic was attended by 49 participants including four guests The picnic started in a bus from Flacq at 8.00 am and travelled through Mt Blanche, Curepipe picking up members from the designated points (Total 20 members). The Bus finally picked up remaining 29 members from J.S.S. Academy of Technical Education, Vacaos around 9.30 am.
All the members had lot of fun inside the bus with participants cheering, singing in chorus and some dancing to the beats and rhythms of Kannada Patriotic songs played through the Music System inside the bus. On reaching, Le Morne Public Beach, Members had light snacks to refresh themselves. The members made self-introduction. After that, members involved themselves playing Beach Cricket, Swim in the beach and visiting Monument Park near the Beach. This was followed by Housie Housie Game and sumptuous lunch and light drinks sponsored by Mr.Roshan Lewis, Rekha and Murali Shenoy.
After lunch, there were games for children and “Passing the Ball” contest for all the picnic participants. There were group photo sessions and prize distribution session.
Around 3.30 pm, the Picnic Group started from Le Morne Beach. The Bus Stopped at Maconde Point and group had a beautiful view of the Sea, Mountain and Road drive. All the members had Photo session of the picturesque background.
After this , the bus had a stopover at Rivere de Gallets, where members had glimpse of the beautiful pebble beach and the strange musical sounds created by the receding waves through the pebbles.
Around 5.00 pm, the bus reached Gris Gris beach, which is the southern most tip point of Mauritius. The members had glimpse of the rocking waves hitting and splashing against the boulders in a dusk background.
On the way back, there were singing sessions by Dr.Sangeeta Anand, Dr Rupnarayan, Dr.Shashi Sewsurn, Ms.Pushpaa and Monologue session by Mr.Anand, which was enjoyed by all the members.
All the members thanked each other for the excellent way in which Picnic get-together turned out to be, and thanked main coordinators Dr.Kumarawamy , Dr.Shashi and Jeyraj Sewsurn (for Collecting Membership fees) and Bhats, Roshan and Shenoys. All members especially thanked Mr.Roshan Lewis, Rekha and Murali Shenoy for sponsoring sumptuous lunch. It was decided that photos will be shared through our Whatsapp group and pendrive to interested members.
It was also decided that we should have such picnic get together once in 2or 3 months.
