PICNIC ON 26.02.2017 (SUNDAY) TO LA CAMBUSE BEACH (7 KMS from Airport)
Good Morning to you all,
ಮಾರಿಷಸ್ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬಳಗದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ.
Thanks for your overwhelming response.
It is also nice to see that many members have volunteered any help. Thanks for the same. We want everyone to come, mix and enjoy fully.
Among the choices given, many people have preferred La Cambuse Beach in the South as many people have not visited it till now. Time and weather permitting, we can also visit another beautiful beach ‘Pont Natural’ in the nearby, which many people have not visited till now.
We have now around 35 confirmations for the picnic.
Dr.Kumaraswamy Sir has already coordinated to confirm participation of 20 members from Anna Medical College.
We shall be glad if other members who have not confirmed participation till now to inform us immediately
We thank all our Anna Dhata (ಅನ್ನದಾತ) volunteers Dr.Sowdi, Dr. Akki and Pushpa Rao for the Picnic. It will help them if all of those who have not confirmed participation, confirm at least now.
We also propose to give prizes after games and compulsory prizes for children. Any sponsors for these prizes will be most welcome.
We have hired bus like last time on same terms of Rs.5,500/- for the entire day. This is reasonable.
The Bus will start in the morning around 7.30 am from Flacq and Mt Blanche to reach JSS Academy at Vacoas before 9.00 am. After the Annual General Body Meeting we can proceed to La Cambuse Beach.
We can have breakfast, games, cricket, swim, songs, dance, Housie Housie and anything that is creative and involving all of us.
Any suggestions are also most welcome.
We will collect MUR 150-175 depending on the number and expenditure incurred.
We also will bring forward the Rs.1,546 surplus left after the last picnic. The amount will be used for giving some prizes for games
Some points to be noted
Many people have not visited La Cambuse. till now because approach road was not good. But now they have repaired it. Hence, it is crowded now.
It is 5-6 kms from Airport in South.
26.02.2017 is a Sunday after MahaShivaratree. Many local people observe fast year during Shivaratree. Fasting in Mauritius means taking only Vegetarian Food. During this period they don’t consume alcohol and take Non-Veg Food. So after Shivaratree festival, they are most likely to use their eating and drinking freedom on Saturday and Sunday. Hence, the beach may be crowded. But this is true of all other beaches on that day.
There is another beautiful beach Pont Natural Beach, which is famous for its rock natural bridge. Only thing is that if it rains aound 24th to 26th , the approach road may be muddy and the Bus route may not be motorable.
In case it rains that day in South, we can plan to shift to any venue like Flic En flac, or North where there is less likelihood of rain.

Good Morning Mallige Balaga friends,
There is a proposal to have ‘get together’ of all Mallige Balaga members as we have not met for a long time.
If it is OK with majority of the members, we can fix it on 12.06.2016 (Sunday). The venue can be any beach picnic spot in the South, where children can play in open sand and shallow water, while elders can indulge in games, music, chitchatting and networking.
If weather or rains are not conducive, then we can shift to our favourite JSS College.
Kindly confirm your participation before 03.06.2016 on this Whatsapp Group. Mail is sent separately to all email ids.
Please contribute your ideas for making the get together meaningful and memorable.

Thanks for your excellent response for picnic proposal and good suggestions.
The venue has been fixed as Le Morne Beach in the South.
We all have to meet at JSS College at 9.00 am on 12.06.2016 (Sunday).
Till afternoon, we can have fun at beach with swim, games, songs, dance, snacks, softdrinks, chitchatting, Harate and Galate (ಹರಟೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗಲಾಟೆ)
Afternoon, on our way back, we can travel along the beautiful South Beaches.
We can have brief stopover (10-15 minutes) for group photo opportunities at following points.
[a] Maconde Point
[b] Rivere De Gallets (Pebble Beach)
[c] Rochester Falls (if driver perits)
[d] Gris Gris Beach.
We request all members/families to confirm participation by sending a simple message “Yes. We will join with following members from our family’.
Kindly invite as many Kannadiga friends, who may not be members as yet.
Based on firm confirmations received we will work out transport, food and other logistics.

Dear friends,
Please recall the visit of Hon. Union Minister K.H.Muniyappa to BALAGA and J S S. In his address to us, he said he will do all that he can in getting funds from Karnataka Government. I met him five times in his house in Bangalore, he was very cordial and has written a covering letter to C M (to the copy our earlier request) and told me that he will personally meet C M and let us know the outcome.
As the elections are due in May and all people will be busy. But let us be optimistic.

Mallige Kannada Balaga is the Socio-cultural organization of the Kannada speaking people living in Mauritius.
Our main objects are to get together, unite, promote, exchange friendship and understanding among Kannada speaking people in Mauritius. To develop the artistic, cultural, economic and social perspectives between the Indian state of Karnataka and Mauritius.
We take this opportunity to mention that we all participating in all the cultural and national events conducted from your office. One of our ambitious project in near future is apart from celebrating important functions such as Karnataka Rajyotsava, Independence day, Republic day and Gandhi Jayanti, is to hold awareness campaign about rich heritage culture of Karnataka in Mauritius and thereby to promote Karnataka tourism. This will also enable business houses in Karnataka to explore business opportunities in Mauritius.
To mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2012, the Balaga with the help of Mauritius Heart Foundation, is arranging for a general health check up camp for the members, their family and JSS Academy staff and Students. Therefore, on behalf of the president and members of the mentioned Kannada Balaga, I am humbly requesting you to visit our BALAGA on Sunday the 13th of May 2012 at 09 00 AM and Inaugurate the said medical camp at JSS Academy premises.

We are inviting our High commissioner Mr. and Mrs. T.P. Seetharam to do the Inauguration of the camp. Thanks for his kindness for accepting our invitation.

Mallige Kannada Balaga: Spreading Fragrance of Karnataka in Mauritius

Mauritius, Sep 15: The management committee members of Mallige Kannada Balaga, Mauritius, greeted Indian minister for corporate affairs, Dr Veerappa Moily and his wife Malathi Veerappa Moily in Mauritius on Wednesday September 14.
Management committee member Muralidhar Shenoy presented a bouquet to the minister and general secretary of the association Gauribidanur Rajashekara presented the credentials of Kannada Balaga to Moily and a memento to Malathi Moily.
Kannada Balaga in Mauritius was established in the year 2006. Its member meet every second Sunday of the month. There are more than 50 Kannadiga families in Mauritius, with some of the individuals working in the government of Mauritius, banks, IT sector and several hundred in textiles and construction sectors.
The association was formed by like-minded Kannadigas who felt the need for a platform to meet and organise cultural activities and exchange views. Sri Sri Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Swamiji, president of JSS Mahavidyapeetha blessed the Balaga.
One of the projects the Balaga plans is to hold awareness campaigns on the rich heritage and culture of Karnataka in Mauritius and thereby to promote Karnataka tourism. This will also enable business houses in Karnataka to explore opportunities in Mauritius. The Balaga also celebrates important festivals like Karnataka Rajyotsava, Independence Day, Republic Day and Gandhi Jayanti.
Mallige Kannada Balaga was formally registered on October 18, 2010 under the Republic of Mauritius.
The members appealed to Dr Moily to support their organisation and said that a similar request was also made to the government of Karnataka.
Dr Moily was pleased to learn about the existence of Kannada Balaga in Mauritius and conveyed his best wishes to the association and its members. Dr Moily also assured his help to the Balaga as and when requested.

I am very happy to inform you all that we were able to meet Hon. Chief Minister again in the night and briefed about the Balaga activities and submitted a requisition for the financial support. As in the morning, Hon. Chief Minister said he will grant Rs. Fifty Laks(INR) for the construction of the Building for Kannada Balaga and gave instructions to his personal staff.

Because of General Election in Mauritius it's delayed, so Balaga has decided to do as soon as possible. Mrs. Goundurao, Mrs. Shikala Jayraj, Mrs.Raghu lapakshi entertained members of Balaga by Singing Kannada song.
After meeting members are enjoyed playing some games like musical chair ,pick and act dum sharar ect. After the games all had small break fast arranged by JSSATE
